The Proclamation
By Timothy Hogan
This painting is a three dimensional painting/woodcarving of the proclamation of our Lord and Savior’s arrival by the angel of the Lord! This amazing news was proclaimed to the shepherds in the fields watching over their flocks by night as described in the gospel of Luke 2: 8-20.
This piece was viewed from my early childhood in my mind. I only understood it upon my commitment to Christ in baptism in 1979. I exclaimed my new found faith in Christ from a church pulpit and described this vision from childhood which had lain hidden, but now was revealed.
Thirty-two years later at the age of 55, I decided this painting must be painted. There are many Christian symbols such as the frame in the shape of a crown, the 130 names of Christ from the Bible, the shadow of the cross, and many more symbols throughout this piece.

My desire is for this painting to cause thought and contemplation for anyone
who looks upon it to consider the reason for this event,
which is for the salvation of all mankind.

About the Artist
Tim Hogan
I have been an artist since early childhood. My way of communicating has always been expressed in artistic creation from wildlife sculpting and painting to painting portraits of the human figure. However, having many life experiences drove me to a deep desire to know my Lord and depend on Him for everything. Therefore, I desire to glorify Him in all my work. Having been raised in the outdoors, hunting, fishing and outdoor adventure has always defined me. Now I use all these tools to carve and paint what I see in God’s amazing creation. May His glory be revealed in and through all He gives me to accomplish.
Tim creates elegant and intricate wildlife, animal carvings and paintings on a commission basis, for both private homes and corporate locations, such as churches, museums, schools and many types of businesses.
